------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- The three year cycle of Banners/Maps/ VisitorsGuide may have to be revisited soon. Banners haven’t been sponsored well this cycle, so we’ll be asking for sponsors for those at least through 2011. The “Tear-Off Maps” brief VisitorsGuide was inserted into the Greater Lansing Visitors Guide and also was a replacement at this year’s Fair for the 11x17 piece we’ve used at the Ingham County Fair the past couple of years.
- The 2010 Thursday Night Live concerts on the Courthouse lawn this summer continue for the sixth season. The Clarksons last week were very good. We should invite them back. The July 22, sponsored by Central Solutions, Inc., was rained out. (Central Solutions was given a golf reception sponsorship and the area sponsorships for Down Home Days Courthouse Show in compensation.) The next one is the Backwoods Band this Thursday the 12th, sponsored by Mason State Bank. We may need to replace the Mason Area Idol competition on August 26 if we don’t get more entries today.
- Down Home Days Courthouse Show crafters will be solicited in a variety of ways to help fill the show. A news release will go out soon. All the specific events and sponsors during the four-day festival need to be confirmed in order to begin publicity.
- We are soliciting volunteers for the August 28 Sun Dried Music Fest from Chamber volunteers and then submitting those individuals’ names to the Fest committee as a group. We’ll also be soliciting vendors from local DHD/SF people by Constant Contact for the Sun Dried Music Fest. We are decorating the store-front windows next door (getting the key from the County Treasurer) for the SDMF. We’ll switch it to DHD sometime after the SDMF.
The next Hometown USA Committee meeting will be on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 8:30 AM in the MACC office.
