MASON AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
MEMBERSHIP SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING

August 17, 2010

Present: Ron Tatro, Chris Iott, Aleasha Wood, and Doug Klein.

  1. The committee reviewed each member alphabetically (through Independent Bank) to determine target levels for membership, sponsorship and leadership.  Staff will continue to set targets and check with the committee on the remainder at the next committee meeting. 
  2. The committee directed staff to structure a campaign and subsequent program as follows: As part of the membership push this fall with the new tiered dues structure, the committee is suggesting a simultaneous sponsorship solicitation campaign for certain dollar levels, to compliment our ongoing solicitation for sponsorship of specific events.  A limited number of members would be targeted and visited to request sponsorship packages in these amounts: $500 for $600 value, $800 for $1000 value, $1000 for $1300 value, $2000 for $2500 value, $3000 for $3800 value, and $5000 for $6000 value.  The hope is to raise about $130,000 from such packages.  The goal is that a combination of those dollar level sponsorship packages, specific event sponsorships, other fundraising, and the new dues structure opportunities would all contribute to allow the Chamber to rebuild its fund balance to safer levels in 2011. Volunteer leadership would also be discussed in these planned conversations.

The next Membership Services Committee meeting will be on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 7:30 AM in the Chamber office.
